Produced by the Department of Defense in the early 1960s, Man and Space is a review of the then current state of the art presentation of the Air Force Systems Command;s bioastronautics life sciences programs. It is an excellent presentation that delves into all the research and operational support structures that were developed in this time period to ensure man's safety in space exploration.

Produced in 1970, this DVD details the events surrounding the July 1969 launch of Apollo 11 and astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. It goes into great detail about the activities of both the astronauts and the mission control staff during the entire sequence that encompassed Apollo 11, training, pre-launch and launch sequences, daily activities on the spacecraft and of course the moonwalks. There is additional fascinating footage of the medical testing astronauts were put through to be sure they were space ready and how the space suits they wore were assembled and tested.

It discusses the methods used in target positioning and target course calculations and examines the tools that were essential to gathering the information for accurate calculations. All in all, it is a fascinating look back at how complex tasks were performed with 19660's era technologies.

The presentation shows many accomplishments made by the army during this period including its early contributions to the space program, technologies it used to map the moon and to deveop more robust communications platforms. Additional, it examples the U.S. Army's extensive skill in underwater salvage operations.
