The Battle of San Pietro was produced by the US Army Pictorial
Service in 1945 and was directed by John Huston. This DVD documents the United
States efforts to take San Pietro, Italy during World War II. Although commissioned
by the US Army to show America how the war was going, they decided not to show
it because it too clearly showed the human cost of the war in Europe. This was
in stark contrast to the many films released by the Army that showed more sanitized
footage of the war efforts. This DVD has a runtime of approximately 32 minutes.
