You Are My Sunshine (2002) was produced by the Department of Health
and Human Services Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and
the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. This
video tells the story of the Sunshine Mine disaster of 1972 via
the stories of 27 people who lived through the disaster. The video
examines what happened, what went wrong and discusses lessons learned.
The Sunshine fire was the driving force behind the creation of the
Metal/Nonmetal Health and Safety Act of 1977. Ninety one miners
were lost in this tragic accident.
This DVD has a runtime of approximately 1 hour 7 minutes.
