Magazine Collections

This collection contains eight annual volumes (72 issues total) of the Brill magazine from 1910 to 1917. Published by the J. G. Brill Company, each issue is a fascinating look at Street-railroads, Electric railroads, Rolling-stock and Cars and the fascinating cities around the world where they were being installed and operated. Each annual volume contains 12 issues, is highly illustrated and runs about 400 pages per volume.

The British Chess Magazine was the premiere magazine of all things chess related from its inception in 1881 to present times. The Confederate Veteran is a fascinating history magazine collection for all Civil War buffs - especially those who study the South. It was created to furnish Confederate veterans of the American Civil War and other readers with articles and pictures documenting the events of that war. To this day, it represents a tremendous archive of many thousands of names and descriptions of people in the Confederate States Army as well as a variety of typical advertisements of that era making it an excellent research archive. This DVD contains 185 monthly issues of The Frisco Employees' Magazine- covering the timeframe of 1902 to 1935. Earlier monthly editions went under the names Frisco System Magazine and Frisco Man. Each volume contains six months worth of issues and run more than 300 pages. The Gardener's Monthly & Horticulturist "Devoted to Horticulture, Arboriculture and Rural Affairs" was a mid 1800's (1850s to 1880s) gardening magazine Unlike many magazines, this one was devoted to the serious horticulturist. Its focus is on transmitting detailed knowledge about plants and gardening. It has no advertising. Volumes vary in size from 200+ pages to 800+ pages.

The New York Coach-Maker's Magazine (Devoted to the Literary, Social and Mechanical Interests of the Craft) is a twelve volume collection published from 1858-1871. Each highly illustrated issue is filled with the beautiful coachwork of the period along with commentary on the art of making elegant coaches as well as other fascinating news that would interest those involved in this fascinating profession. Each volume represents a years worth of issues of this magazine and contains about 300 pages.
