The Latest Viewers for Our Products

Many of our products require viewers to access the content.

For our map products, the images are in MrSid format and JPEG 2000 format.

For our book on disk products, the books are in PDF format and DJVU format.

MrSid/JPEG 2000 Viewers for maps:

RECOMMENDED MAP VIEWER SOLUTION --> A free software package called irfanview is an excellent graphical image viewer and handles both MrSid and JPEG 2000 files. Please note that you must download and install both the main software and the plugins package. Download irfanview and the plugins package here.


MrSid/JPEG 2000 Online Converters for maps:

These online solutions allow you to upload one of your map files and easily convert it into another format.

Note: One of our Macintosh customers experimented and figured out a way to view MrSID files on Mac platforms. He provied installation instructions. If you understand them and want to give it a try, that is great but we do not support Macintosh for MrSID files so we cannot provide assistance.

Here is what he did:

  1. Install Xquartz -
  2. Install your viewer. He chose to use TNTAtlas - and that seems a good full featured choice to use for this purpose. He also made a note that such things like drag and drop don't work so you have to actually use the open function from within the program to access the files.

DJVU Viewers:

Our DJVU products work on both Windows and Macintosh platforms.
