• 1943 Castle films newsreel highlighting many of the most sensational aspects of the battle.
• United Newsreels footage showing the invasion fleet as it moves toward Tarawa. Marines landing on the beach and fighting the Japanese after a naval bombardment softened them up. Te newsreel also shows the effect of the attack on Japanese emplacements.
